Our campaign events are designed to be safe, welcoming spaces for everyone in Surulere Constituency 1. To protect that spirit, we ask all attendees to follow these simple guidelines:
- Respect first: Speak to others the way you would like to be spoken to. No insults, threats, harassment, or hate speech of any kind.
- Listen to understand: Allow others to finish their thoughts. We welcome tough questions, but we do not shout one another down.
- Non-violence and safety: Violence, intimidation, or destruction of property are never acceptable. Follow instructions from event stewards and security personnel.
- Inclusive and family-friendly: Many events will include young people and elders. Please keep language and behaviour appropriate for all ages.
- Accessibility: Where possible, we choose venues with step-free access and seating. If you have accessibility needs, please let a volunteer know so we can support you.
- Media and photos: Our volunteers may take photos or short videos to document events. If you prefer not to appear, kindly inform a volunteer.
- Health considerations: If you feel unwell or have symptoms of a contagious illness, consider joining a later event instead to protect your neighbours.
By attending, you agree to help us keep campaign events peaceful, respectful, and focused on solutions for Surulere 1.
New events are added regularly as Barakat and the campaign team visit more streets, markets, schools, and worship centres across Surulere Constituency 1.
You can receive updates about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and key campaign announcements by signing up on the Join Us page. You can also suggest an event idea or invite Barakat to your community meeting through our Talk page.
Your voice matters. Whether you attend one town hall or host a full community dialogue, you are helping to shape the future of Surulere 1.
